- Posted by Admin
As we promised in our previous article on Contemporary interior style, today we will look at Industrial style! The industrial style as the name suggests is inspired by a warehouse or an urban loft.
There’s a sense of unfinished rawness in many of the elements. It’s common for this style to see exposed brick, ductwork, and wood.
A renovated loft from a former industrial building would be a perfect example of how the Industrial style should look like.
Very representative features for this particular style are the high ceilings, metal light fixtures, old timber, and functional furniture. A dash of color can be added with one or several pieces of abstract art or photography to add to the usually neutral color scheme.
The walls and structure consist usually by exposed building materials like bricks, concrete, steel beams or columns, stainless steel, and unfinished woodwork.
Clear, bright and bold colors are avoided and warm, neutral tones to fill the space are preferred instead. The raw materials determine the truly authentic industrial look.
When it comes to flooring the most frequently used material of a floor for an industrial style is concrete. Other materials you can use are timber and stone flooring as they are a good option to achieve the industrial look
is very important for the industrial style to highlight different areas. The type of lighting fixtures includes free-standing floor lamps and metal finish pendants. They both are a great source of light for a distinctive look. You can also try to add a few spot lamps into your space!
an industrial-style space you should opt for large comfortable sofas and scatter cushions to work alongside the industrial accent pieces & artwork. Wall design should incorporate various abstract art or photography pieces to add color to space!
Natural plants will also add color and life into your environment, so you can also look for a few great large leaf plants & some significant pots for your home interior!
